Joseph Okumu linked with move to Scottish Champions Rangers

Harambee Stars defender Joseph Okumu has been linked with a sensational move to Scottish Premier League Champions Rangers FC.

Rangers who are currently managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard are at the forefront to land the defender during the summer transfer window according to hitc.com

Rangers are reportedly offering upto $2 million for the 23 year old Kenyan defender who started his professional career in 2014 at Chemelil Sugar before moving to South Africas Free State Stars.

Okumu then moved to Real Monarchs in the United States in 2018 before settling at current Swedish Club IF Elfsborg. His strong showing helped the team manage a 2nd place finish in the league landing qualification to the Europa League qualifiers.

An alumnus of Kakamega High School, Okumu was part of the 2014 squad that bcame national champions also boasting of having speedy Harambee Stars Left back Erick ‘Marcelo’ Ouma in their ranks.

Should his move to Scotland materialize, he will follow in the footsteps of Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama who turned out for Scottish giants Celtic.
